New immigrants want to and should be self-sufficient as soon as they arrive. However most are unfamiliar with the local culture and working environment, and may lack the necessary requirements, experience and connections to begin building a new life.
A Fresh Start in the UK
In September 2021, AHF launched a project “A Fresh Start in the UK” through the professional youth recruitment social enterprise Find A Good Boss to assist young Hong Kong immigrants with limited resources and connections to start a new and meaningful career. The project matches British job vacancies with young Hong Kong immigrants and provide them with extra job training and career support to increase their chances of securing the right job.
